A pre and post-production agency based in the north west.
Crews Up North is a Production and Post Production agency offering a range of services and personnel to the broadcast industry in the North. Our comprehensive database includes editors, cameras, lighting and sound, as well as production staff for the broadcast, commercial and film industries.
Concentrating on talent, we take the pressure of booking freelance staff from you, leaving you to focus your time on your clients. As the ever-changing industry moves towards freelance staff, we offer a professional service providing high quality staff for all budgets.
Since Crews Up North's establishment in 2005, we have provided crew and editors for programmes such as How To Look Good Naked, Soapstar Superstar, Location Location Location, A Place in the Sun and the BBC's Heaven and Earth. As well as attending the RTS Television Awards, we contributed to the BBC Innovation Day and were on the executive panel at BECTU's 'Move On Up' event.
Crews Up North has worked with over 40 production companies based from London to Glasgow and prides itself on providing talent from the north west region. We believe that up-and-coming talent should be encouraged to stay in the region to provide tomorrow's professionals. It has been an excellent start for Crews Up North and we hope to build on this success throughout 2007.
If you are an editor with a solid history of broadcast editing, or you crew in the north west and would like to have a no-obligation/confidential chat about joining Crews Up North, please contact us.
Television is perhaps one of the hardest industries to break into, with new talent on the bottom rung of the ladder often expected to work long hours for little pay.
At Crews Up North we try to offer graduates work wherever possible but as an agency it can be rarer for us to receive placement opportunities for freelancers without industry experience or a list of credits.
We do however have junior positions come through on occasion so if you have some experience feel free to email over your CV.
Additionally, there are a number of schemes here in the North West that can help people get their first foot in the door or boost their skills with extra training. Please follow the links below for opportunities and advice:
